Follow-Up Audit at the Mathematics Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Strengthens the Quality Culture in Research and Community Service

The Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, conducted a Follow-Up Audit (Audit Tindak Lanjut/ATL) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as part of the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal/SPMI), which is committed to continuous quality improvement. This audit focused on the fulfillment of the Research Standards and Community Service Standards, while also verifying the implementation of corrective actions taken in response to recommendations from the previous Internal Quality Audit (Audit Mutu Internal/AMI). The Follow-Up Audit is coordinated by the University's Quality Assurance Office as part of strengthening the quality culture across the institution.

The audit for the Mathematics Study Program was conducted by Dr. Zamakhsari as the internal auditor. During the audit, the auditor reviewed supporting documents, implementation evidence, and the effectiveness of the follow-up actions undertaken by the study program in the areas of research and community service. In addition to ensuring compliance with the established quality standards, the audit also served as a forum for constructive discussion to identify opportunities for improvement and to further strengthen the governance of these two academic domains.

As an integral component of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), the Follow-Up Audit plays a significant role in the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement). Following the evaluation of the Internal Quality Audit results, each study program is required to implement corrective actions addressing the findings and recommendations provided by the auditors. Through the Follow-Up Audit, the auditor verifies the extent to which these recommendations have been effectively implemented. Therefore, the Follow-Up Audit functions not merely as a compliance review but also as a quality control mechanism that ensures continuous and systematic improvement in the implementation of the university's three pillars of higher education (Tri Dharma).

The audit was conducted in a constructive atmosphere through discussions between the auditor and the study program management regarding various aspects of research and community service management. This process is expected to provide valuable input for enhancing the effectiveness of quality standard implementation, strengthening the culture of evaluation, and encouraging innovation in the implementation of the Tri Dharma within the Mathematics Study Program.

Through this Follow-Up Audit, the Mathematics Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga reaffirms its commitment to fostering a sustainable quality culture through continuous quality improvement. The audit results will serve as the basis for developing strategic initiatives to further enhance the quality of research and community service, thereby contributing more significantly to the advancement of knowledge, institutional development, and society.
