Workshop on Course Design and Learning Assessment

Yogyakarta, August 19, 2025 – The Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, organized an academic workshop entitled “Course Design and Learning Assessment”. The event aimed to strengthen the capacity of lecturers and educators in developing systematic course planning and designing assessments in accordance with higher education standards.

The workshop began with a presentation delivered by Dr. Ratna Wardani, S.Si., M.T., from Yogyakarta State University (UNY). In her presentation, she highlighted strategies for creating effective semester course plans (RPS) and emphasized the importance of aligning them with the principles of Outcome Based Education (OBE). Dr. Wardani also elaborated on various assessment techniques to ensure that student learning outcomes can be accurately measured.

Following the presentation, the program continued with a follow-up session and discussion led by the Mathematics Study Program team, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The interactive discussion provided an opportunity for lecturers to share experiences and formulate concrete steps for implementing course design and assessment practices within the program.

Through this activity, lecturers and educators are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of structured course planning and relevant assessment methods. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Mathematics Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga to improve the quality of education and to prepare competent graduates who are ready to meet the demands of the times.
