Surakarta, January 8, 2025 – Faculty members of the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, conducted an academic visit to the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The event was held in the FMIPA UNS dean's meeting room on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between institutions and share experiences related to preparations for international accreditation visitation by ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics). In addition, the discussions also covered program management, student affairs, alumni engagement, and the management of facilities and laboratories.

The event began with a presentation by the Head of the Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA UNS, Prof. Dr. Drs. Siswanto, M.Si., who elaborated on the strategic steps undertaken by FMIPA UNS in preparing for international accreditation. In his remarks, Prof. Siswanto emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration to enhance the quality of education and research in mathematics.

The Head of the Mathematics Study Program, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr. Epha Diana Supandi, M.Sc., also delivered a speech expressing gratitude for the warm welcome from FMIPA UNS. He conveyed his hope that the outcomes of this visit would provide significant benefits for both departments in addressing the challenges of higher education globalization.

The discussion was interactive, covering a range of intriguing topics such as strategies to increase alumni involvement in program development, optimizing laboratories as research centers, and innovative approaches in student management. The lively discussion atmosphere reflected a shared commitment to achieving higher educational standards.

The visit concluded with a group photo session and the exchange of souvenirs between the two institutions. Through this activity, it is hoped that stronger ties will be established between the Mathematics Department of UIN Sunan Kalijaga and FMIPA UNS, enabling mutual support in achieving international accreditation and improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
