Description This course studies one of the applications of mathematics used to solve problems in information technology, namely for the detection and correction of errors that can occur in data transmission through communication lines or on data storage media. The basics of mathematics used are linear algebra (vector spaces, bases and matrices) and algebraic structures (groups, rings and finite fields). The materials given in this course include Hamming distance, linear code, generator matrix, parity check matrix, Hamming code, Reed-Muller code, Cyclic code, and several other codes.
