Algebra Colloquium Held by Mathematics Study Program

The Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, successfully held an Algebra Colloquium on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB. The event took place in Room FST-303B and was attended by lecturers and students of the Mathematics Study Program.

This colloquium featured two speakers, both alumni of the Mathematics Study Program, class of 2021. The first presentation was delivered by Kharisma Muhammad Adzani, S.Mat., entitled “ElGamal Cryptosystem on Max-Plus Algebra Matrices.” His talk discussed the application of algebraic structures in the field of cryptography, particularly the use of matrix representations in securing data.

The second presentation was given by Ridwan Muhammad Saputra, S.Mat., with the topic “Authentication Protocol Using Matrices over Min-Plus Algebra.” This presentation highlighted the implementation of min-plus algebra in designing authentication protocols, addressing an important aspect of information security.

The event was marked by a lively atmosphere, with participants showing great enthusiasm. Following the presentations, an interactive discussion and Q&A session took place, where both lecturers and students actively exchanged ideas and raised insightful questions.

At the end of the event, the committee announced that the next colloquium will focus on topics in statistics. The series of colloquia are expected to continue serving as an academic forum for knowledge-sharing and broadening insights across various branches of mathematics.
